    • I've heard that vehicles and the world use two different engines. If so, then we have a miracle on our hands - because it actually works to some degree. It may be quite hard to "address" problems with driving in such environment. Game needs a new engine - the one that is consistent, not jury-rigged.
    • Dear DayZ Development Team, I hope this message finds you well. I'm reaching out to share some feedback regarding an aspect of gameplay that I believe could benefit from improvement: driving mechanics. While the addition of vehicles has undoubtedly enriched the DayZ experience, there have been consistent reports of buggy behavior and frustrations associated with driving. Addressing these issues could significantly enhance the overall gameplay experience for all players. Here are some key areas where I believe improvements could be made: Vehicle Handling and Stability: Implement adjustments to improve the handling and stability of vehicles, particularly at higher speeds and over rough terrain. This could involve refining physics calculations and collision detection to provide a smoother driving experience. Reducing Desync and Lag: Address desynchronization and network lag issues that often result in erratic vehicle behavior, such as teleportation, rubber-banding, and collisions with invisible obstacles. Improving server-client communication and optimizing network performance could help mitigate these issues. Collision Detection and Interaction: Enhance the accuracy and consistency of collision detection to prevent vehicles from getting stuck on terrain features or experiencing sudden, unexpected collisions. This could involve refining the physics engine and collision algorithms to better simulate real-world interactions. Vehicle Persistence and Respawning: Ensure that vehicles persist reliably across server restarts and respawns in consistent locations to prevent instances of vehicles disappearing or spawning in inaccessible areas. Implementing robust persistence mechanics for vehicles could help alleviate frustration and improve the reliability of transportation options. User Interface and Controls: Streamline the user interface and controls for operating vehicles, making it easier for players to understand and interact with vehicle systems effectively. Providing intuitive controls and informative feedback can enhance the accessibility and enjoyment of driving in DayZ. By addressing these issues and refining the driving mechanics in DayZ, you would not only improve the quality of life for players but also enhance immersion and realism within the game world. Vehicles are a significant aspect of gameplay in DayZ, and ensuring their functionality and reliability is crucial to the overall experience.
    • Dear DayZ Development Team, I hope this message finds you well. I've been thoroughly enjoying my experiences in DayZ, and I wanted to share an idea that I believe could enhance the gameplay experience for many players. I propose the addition of a new scope specifically designed for Picatinny rails. The current selection of scopes in the game provides great variety, but I believe there's an opportunity to introduce a scope that caters to a different style of gameplay. This new scope could offer a unique balance of features, making it a desirable option for players who prefer versatility and adaptability in their loadouts. Here are some key features I envision for a new Picatinny rail scope: Variable Zoom: Implement a scope with adjustable zoom levels, allowing players to switch between magnifications based on their engagement distance and preference. I suggest 3x, 6x and 9x zoom to make it a desirable option against other weapons such as the Tundra and Savannah. Compatibility with Existing Firearms: Design the scope to be compatible with the wide range of firearms that support Picatinny rails, especially the new VS-89, ensuring accessibility for players across different loadouts Illuminated Reticle: Include an illuminated reticle to improve overall targeting capabilities, and provide easier target acquisition.
    • That is just a great news for Vigor, not related to DayZ standalone at all. No worries, this is not affecting DayZ in any way. ❤️ You have the ability to turn the music off. Just go to your settings. We care, but we don't have the option to distribute the soundtrack to console players.
Out of curiosity, how long have you owned Livonia DLC? Do you feel like the time on the map was not worth it? Or is the missing soundtrack the issue? Sorry, just trying to understand a bit better.
    • Xbox Experimental 1.25 Update 2 - Version 1.25.156961 (Release on 25.02.2024) GAME FIXED Fixed an issue that would result in increasing performance drops over time In rare occasions, characters could desynchronized after respawning Grenades were not deleted properly when they exploded inside of a corpse's inventory
    • so if you like to jump on the change train ive got a post right below this one that fully encompasses this topic if you want to take a look at and see if its something you would like to help promote.

its titled "Dayz's Flawed Foundations: Movement and Gunplay" if youre interested
    • SV-98 in the basics has 4x - 8x variable magnification optics. Basically as suggestion devs could add ability for hunting scope to be mounted to the Viver-Picatiny rail system, or finally added proper configs for LongRangeOptics, that's already in the game but that optics shall be mounted to Viver-Pica rail system and that's might be quiet enough. Yes you can add slot for using it on the Viver-Pica, but LongRangeOptics has issue it's located far away from spot for the HuntingOptics in any other cases it's the same. But honestly it would be nicely if devs include the understanding of Mount rings, the 25mm & 30/35mm for the Viver & Hunting mount system...   But I'm agreed with you that could be quiet good!
    • I'm currently in the process of creating my own server in DayZ after 11 years of playing experience. So far, I've configured everything the way I'd like it. However, I'm facing a few challenges for which I haven't found a solution yet: Is there a way to make the zombies run faster by increasing their speed value? Personally, I find the zombies too slow, especially the Mummy Zombie. I'd prefer to make them faster so that players don't have it so easy 🙂 I know there are mods, but I'd like to keep my server completely free of modifications (as vanilla as possible). I've been working on the XML files, performance, and all settings for 3.5 months now, so I've invested a lot of time. It would be great if I could also get a mod-free solution for the last step – the speed of the zombies. Can anyone help me with this?
    • You know what would go well with our new exotic long range rifle? The (formerly know as) LONG RANGE scope 🙂 According to "PlentyOMangos" on reddit, the IRL hunting / long range scope would fit the rail the SV uses in-game. Would it be fun? Yes. Would it be realistic? Yes 🙂
    • @kyiara - thank you for clearing that up! I didn't scroll far enough to see that answer in the FAQ. Glad BD has a plan for Livonia owners as well!
