Suggestions for weapon attachments and tactical clothing

Recommended Posts

I think there should be Scope mounts for weapon optics, they would make you able to attach an optic to a weapon that should be able to support it. For Example, I own an SKS and if I wanted to i could mount a high powered Optic to it ALL DAY LONG and BI pods for that matter. Also they would Improve the AK family because you could then attach the Acog, M68, and RDS to the them. Yes companys do make Rail systems that allow AK varient rifles to mount Acogs, And yes Trijicon does make Acogs for 7.62MM. I think More realistic customization is needed for weapons in the game I.E. If you can do it in the real world it should be alowed in DAYZ. The more options the better.

You guys do a really great job on all of your object modeling and textures. So im thinking Leg holsters. The mechanics for them are already there with the chest holster.

NOTE: Companys also make Leg Holsters for SMG's

Maybe Tactical Waist Belts? Could work like the plate carriers with attachable pouches, hoslers and Butt packs.

I think Backpacks with Attachable hydration Pouches would be a nice addition as well. There are a number of tactical and Civilian Back packs that have built in hydration systems that do not take up Storage space. They also have removeable bladders so you can refill them.

  • I can see AK mounts having some use - heck, there's no reason why the AKs shouldn't be able to use RIS optics now considering that the railed handguard has rails on top. AK mounts would also work on the SVD and VSS and allow centered rather than frontal optics, and they're not really excessively tacticool (moreso than other things we already have, that is) so I have no problem with them.

I don't really see a need for one on the SKS, however. The one we have is a Yugo M59/66 anyway, not a Siminov Type 45, so I'm not sure it'd be compatible with your average rail mounts. Either way, I think it's enough that it has the PU scope.

Leg holsters aren't implemented currently because of some character limitations but the devs have already said that they'd like to do them if/when it becomes possible. SMG holsters aren't really necessary considering you can already fit them in backpacks, but I guess they'd be cool.

Waist belts are another thing that don't exist because of character model limitations, and again I'm pretty sure they're something that the devs have said they want to do.

Hydration pouches would be neat, but they don't really add anything other than variety because I doubt auto-drinking would ever become a function and you can always just keep a canteen in your backpack.

The tactical belt would be a good addition to the game. It could have let's say 4 slots or so. You could attach 2 canteens, a pair of handcuffs, and maybe like the collapsible baton or pistol mags. It could free up some pack slots.

For pure survival usage, I actually do not like "hydration bladders" all that much. Sure, they are handy, but you can carry the same amount of water in canteens or bottles, which in and of themselves are more useful than a plastic hydration bladder. I prefer metal, because you can literally just throw one on some embers to boil drinking water (for teas, medical purposes, or to cook food), but you can even boil water in a plastic bottle if you are careful about it.

Can't do that with a hydration bladder. Give me the "more useful" piece of equipment every time.
