My dissatisfaction with the map of DayZ .

Recommended Posts

PLS! Change everything on the map. Chernarus is ridiculous for a zombie apocalypse.

The buildings are too small, the player stumbles upon all the furniture, walls, doors .

DayZ Super market:

500px-Supermarket_Inside.jpg?version=f48

When you enter, you will stumble upon all shelves, it is difficult to access the only door to the store and there is a very small building, You can loot in less than 30 seconds.

Others survival games super Market:

In this supermarket, you can run without tripping over the furniture, you can easily fight against zombies. It has two plants, It's big, dark and you spend much time exploring.

Houses, schools , hospitals ... Everything feels ridiculously small in DayZ and is very uncomfortable to play.

I could spend all day naming ridiculously small buildings in DayZ . But the message is clear . Many people think like me and many people stop playing DayZ for this reason.

There will be a new map, supposedly. Hopefully it has new buildings. Arma 2 buildings are very bland.

There's almost no ARMA 2 Buildings left.

mr. gorbachev, tear down this small mall!

seriously, I've seen a load of small shops like this. It doesn't claim to be a supermarket.

Makes me lol thinking of the thing that makes people quit is the size of the supermarkets.

The buildings are actually very realistic for times and places where the action of Arma 2 took place - communistic land of 80-90's. In Poland to this day you can spot many of buildings  with same style like those in DayZ ("supermarkets", kiosks, "office" building, village buildings, the blocks etc.). Buildings are small cause this is communism, not USA.

I feel that DayZ development would be crazy to not borrow some of the better concepts from State of Decay; juggernaut farm-boy zombies foremost.  At the same time, I trust that they want many of the same things that you and many other people want to see added to this game.

... I don't know what game you are playing, but the DayZ SA I play has a few customized buildings, while the rest are the same buildings with added interiors. It's bland, especially when you see the same exact copies in every town with no changes.

Chernarus is a poor country, therefore there aren't going to be Wal-Mart's and Aldi's all around, and while it's not my favorite map of all time, it fits the setting of the game quite well. Really wouldn't hurt to have larger buildings in a more urban area of the map, however....

Exactly my thought. There has to be a few rich cats in that country that have some very large houses or other buildings of different varieties like it. Not saying there should be entire rich districts like what you see in California and allot of the USA etc.

Chernarus also need alleys where zombies can corral the players!

Cities in DayZ:

dayz-new-police-station-in-middle-of-ele

In these cities, players can loot each building in less than 30 seconds. The buildings are very small and narrow, the players stumble with all the furniture. No alleys where zombies can corral the other players. No player would strengthen an apartment because they are small, narrow and uncomfortable. These cities are realistic in context, but in a zombie apocalypse is a poop.

Cities in other survival games:

War-Z_S08.jpg

In these cities the players take a long time to explore each building. The buildings are very large. There alleys where zombies can corner the player. Even players may take an apartment of a building as a house because they are spacious and comfortable. These cities are realistic.

Aight, so here we go.

Added interior already indicates that they're not A2 Buildings anymore, but are part of SA and reworked for SA. Thus they're not A2 Buildings no more - not for a long stretch anyway.

You could say the same thing when going to Czech Republic / Russia. "Woah, all these look like A2 - totally lame!"

Whilst we're at that argument - you could say that same thing about Russia / Czech Republic in general - that it's bland. I would actually call it pretty accurate for that exact reason. That's how that general are looks like... I have benn there numerous times. Have you?

I would not leave the game by the size of supermarkets. I will leave the game for his bad atmosphere and the few opportunities offered by the environment. ¬¬

These cities are realistic.

Not for Chernarussian Territory. Remember, it's not supposed to be America.

And it's actually pretty close to the reallife counterpat of Chernarus, which is located in the Czech Republic.

Yeah, i know but this is why we need a new atmosphere ... Chernarus provides very little chance of the game.

Hopefully once modding is implemented there will be a US like urban type of map, but I highly doubt the dayz dev team has the time for this type of thing right now just because a few people are "sick" of chernarus (which you shouldn't be chernarus+ is hardly recognizable as the same map as from arma 2) ** sorry for double ment to edit

Im pretty sure they wont be changing the general local where "dayz" takes place ( moving to an american city ) - im sure all the things you want will be in the game to some degree but you're going to have to be Patient - take a break and come back in 6 months, perhaps then...

that at least makes some sense. I would like larger buildings to and cities more like those posted above but would never leave over not getting it

I can't drop a burlap sack with a can of food in it without it vanishing every restart , and this guy is worried about the size of a corner store.
