Respawn for Broken Legs

Recommended Posts

Well, I am sure this has been mentioned before because it is so damn annoying but there really needs to be a respawn option for when you break you legs.

As it is, if you break your legs without anyway to fix them, you need to:

A) Find someone or something to kill you

B) Suicide

C) Starve

All of these things lead to respawning. Having to resort to option C is so damn stupid and it is pushing me away from playing the game. My character broke his legs and now all I can do is wait until he dies. So I turn on the game, wait a few minutes and then realize how I am wasting my time and turn the game off until the next week, when I've forgotten how boring it is to stare at my character starve.

If you are a hardcore survival gamer, you don't have to click respawn! But please give the people who are sick of waiting a chance to play the game that they want to.

rags & sticks work often enough.

I went on to try that. searched found a stick, then opened my inventory and remembered i had tossed my clothes in hopes of freezing and going unconscious or something, so I couldn't make rags.

Couldn't help but laugh at myself after that. Never mind about my post, I'm just a moron.

We all learn by our mistakes...

rag + stick = splint.

rag + stick = fire.

rag + stick = torch.

Make an armband with a rag, might come in useful later.

Rags to riches.

I thought cutting up a raincoat was the only way to make armbands?

What are those? What about:
  • Find someone to help fixing your legs because it's not a deathmatch game
  • Crawl around trying to find what you need instead of giving up because it's not a trivial task
  • Not giving up on the resources you have in hopes of dying because it's a survival game

And of course:

  • Avoid breaking your legs in the first place to avoid getting in those situations
  • Team up with somebody who might be able to help you later
  • Keep a morphine stick or splint for emergency situations

No need for a respawn option here (I also think you should not be allowed to respawn if unconscious but not in coma*) - more like the opposite as it would provide an "easy way out" and might help those freshspawn suiciders (speak: coast teleporters) as well.

*Coma here means the state where you are below 500 blood and cannot wake up on your own.

i agree, sometimes i'll mess around with freshspawns, knock them out, cuff'em, and make them my slave but 9/10 times they go for the respawn button as soon as the are unconsious.

Last time I spawned at the wrong place I jumped off a cliff, broke my legs, crawled around to find rags, craft a stone knife, got some sticks, crafted a splint, fixed my fracture, and went right back to the cliff to kill myself. Why? Because I spawned on the opposite side of the map from my friend.

I made the post without knowing you could make a splint and I was referring to when you have nothing and are stranded. So, teaming up and morphine wouldn't be applicable. Crawling around while in the middle of nowhere would take so long that, in my opinion, it would be a waste of time. Finally, not breaking your legs is wouldn't solve the problem because you would be in that situation in the first place. Now that I know how to make a splint, I don't think a respawn option is needed.

Well, i don't really think you should ever be in a situation where you need to wait for your character to die out...thats just a waste of time. I think there should a respawn option for cases like rocks or spawn with some berry that makes you die much faster than starvation. people wouldn't abuse that as they would a respawn button.

This was a decent suggestion when sticks were a spawn and you couldn't get them through cutting down bushes or search on the forest floor but now it makes no sense.

I remember having to crawl from north of the neaf to svet just so I could get killed by zombies before you could make splints easily.
