1.8.5. - Pine trees bounding box shielding from shots

Recommended Posts

"The bane of my fcking life" - as someone just described it.

People are starting to realize that they can just sit on pine trees and not get shot, or at least get protected from a large percentage of the shots.

To make matters worse, their guns are sticking out of the pine tree's bounding box, therefore enabling them to shoot back without any harm.

At Europa server, we're constantly experiencing players sitting on pine trees without a care in the world while you spray at them, knowing that they are safe as long as they don't move.

This is far beyond game-breaking, please address this issue, or change the name of the mod to "PineZ".

This is a copy/paste from my issue at Github, posted here for discussion. Share your thoughts.

(also, if possible, can any admin check why my many issues posted at Github are not showing to anybody else but me?)

Thank you.

You will need to contact github about issues we can see them being created but can not do anything with them all we get is 404 errors from your issues. My only other thought would be your banned on github looking at your current post i cant say im too surprised at that one.

Now onto the pine trees this issue isnt a nice one we are bound by license's. we are just not allowed to do some stuff for legal reasons this happens to be one of them.

Damn you R4Z0R for modifying the object/asset hitboxes just to ruin this poor fellas life.

I much prefer to play "Pine-A 2 Operation Sprucehead" anyways.

I recently headshoted a Player with a DMR who was sitting in a pine tree and he didn't die, at least I now know why.

I'd imagine this bug is also responsible for people to be able to protect themselves from zombies in pine trees.

As for licensing:

I know that the DayZ Mod "Origins" has managed to change that. In origins, standing next to a pine tree doesn't protect you from zombies. How are they allowed to do that and you aren't?

Origins does not hold the same license we do. They hold another license  witch is this one dayz mod license share alike

What would it take for you to get the same license as Origins?

We will never have the same license but i have asked to see what we can do about this if anything just waiting to hear back.
