Czechoslovakian Samopal Vzor 58 (Vz. 58)

Recommended Posts

People who have played the mod might of seen this gun but if you have no here is a brief description of it and some pictures

The Vz. 58 (model 58) is a 7.62mm assault rifle designed and manufactured in Czechoslovakia and accepted into service in the late 1950s as the 7,62 mm Samopal Vzor 58 ("7.62mm automatic firearm model 1958"), replacing the Vz. 52 self-loading rifle and the 7.62×25mm Tokarev Vz. 24 and Vz. 26 submachine guns.

While externally the Vz. 58 resembles the Soviet AK-47, it is a different design based on a short-stroke gas piston. It shares no parts with Kalashnikov rifles, including the magazine.

I would support it, but honestly in my opinion there's no point. We already have a gun which fires the same round and looks fairly similar (AKM). I know they're different and work differently and all, but really I think all that adding this would do is make it harder to actually find a matching weapon and magazine.

like in real life its hard to find a gun with the same mag if you lived in the Czech Republic you would properly die before you find a mag for any gun also I think that this gun should be more easy to find than any AK's because Chernarus is based on the Czech republic you would find a Vz 58 before you find a AKM you know also they don't use the AKM anymore in the Czech republic so this could replace the AKM

I love the wood. Its cheap laminated particle board wood but it looks sexy to me. as for a role this could be the defacto 7.62x39 assault rifle since it has no accesories and could then in turn be used as a base low tier weapon.

The akm made rare due to side rail mount + other accessories.

I wouldn't have a huge problem with this but I really fail to see the point - internally and operationally it's a completely different gun to the AK series but in terms of physical appearance it's very similar, and that's not to mention that gameplay-wise you're basically just getting a different AKM with a different (nearly identical) 30 round magazine and maybe some different attachments.

Granted the AK101 uses the exact same model and attachments as the AK74, and I'm perfectly fine with both so I can't really disagree with this, but I'm not sure it would really be worth modeling an entirely new gun purely for the variety. (Since even guns like the AUG which [currently] perform identical to the M4A1 still have visual variation, while the Vz. 58 is hard to distinguish from an AK to the untrained eye.)

I could see gibonez' idea of this being a lower end assault rifle working, though. These guns are actually modified far more often than original AKMs, but considering how modular the current AK platforms we have are I wouldn't mind if this thing had only bare bones attachments (with the exception of something like a scope rail for NATO optics) .

I know that I was suggesting if they added purely the base model cz 58 that is the most common version it would have none of that.

It would especially work in that role since it would not have any compatibility with ak pattern accessories.

Vast majority of the cz 58 especially in their current role as reserve unit weapons would be plain.

But why would it be more common in Chernarus? The gun was not even included in ARMA 2. And it doesn't make sense to me that AKs get attachments and vz.58s don't.

It was added in Operation Arrowhead to ARMA 2. Czech soldiers sometimes use it as did PMC. You could get base wooden models or nodded polymer ones with desert camo, reflex sights, ACOG etc.
