The information you've provided is lacking.

Hold down the power button until your PC shuts off, I suppose??

Perhaps your hardware/software is old/not updated/infected?

Windows didn't do an update coincidentally at the same time as DAyZ, did they?

Try this...

- Open Task manager (press Ctrl Alt and Delete)

- Click on the Processes Tab (The second one)

- Check if there's a "DayZ - Steam Application" still running.

- If you find it click on it and then press "End Process" at your bottom right.

- Try turning off your PC

It's not the BEST way to shut the pc like this down, isnt it? No hardware/software is up do date and not infected :)

yeah I get this sometimes, you need to shut down the steambootstrapper.exe in your processes, dunno if it's a dayZ problem per se

Have you tried turning it off and back on again?

Depends, on Windows 8 pressing the power button is fine (holding down no on a HDD system), any windows system with a SSD and no HDD should be fine as well.

Check to see if BE.exe is running in the task manager, if yes then end the process.

Might help, might not.
