What would happen if the 0.54 people were given some servers.

I know it would never happen but what if Bohemia just allowed there to be a 0.54 "shard" or something?

 

Maybe a dozen US and Euro servers each and maybe 1 or 2 for the other regions.

 

How much of the population would migrate there, and stay?

 

How would it make sense to perpetuate what was such a rough and feature poor iteration, rather than have those that want it wait for modding to get the PvP mod for DayZ?

I think the already did that, it's called any other FPS game on the market.

 

Look at all these people who registered for the forum just so they could complain about .55 even though they had nothing to say before. Listen to how the talk about BI ruining their experience and how they're entitled to be catered to because they're the majority. I bought this game because it's not (I hope) going to be like any of a million quick action flex your e-peen against others, cookie cutter PVP games already on the market.

 

I actually wouldn't be surprised if it did happen though because everything these days has to be exactly the same or people get confused and if thing are slow to achieve they just give up and move on.

I second this idea. But there should be 75% of 0.54 servers. Because there is just small number of players that like where dayz is going. I just hope devs will continue with this path, and won't listen to countless "can't find gear,cans and weapons in first 15 minutes, no fun" complaints.

So 75% of the player base bought the wrong type of game.  They did Bohemia a favor at least by helping fund the alpha but truthfully, they are no longer needed to help finish the alpha.  It's best they come back on release when modding is available and turn it into Arma 4.

I really hope and want to believe that there are a lot of people who follow and play DayZ that are MORE interested in the survival and zombie killing aspects of the game that we just don't hear from as much.

 

I think the PvP crowd is more of a revolving door of players, while the other play styles don't burn out and get bored with DayZ as fast.

 

Over time, elements of the game may drive away the PvP crowd to some degree (which is really fine by me) but they might be replaced by a long term more "invested" player base that only keeps steadily growing.
