Layering Certain Clothing-more realism

Recommended Posts

As you know, a player can have a shirt on, and if they want to put on a jacket, they need to give up the shirt. In real life, not a lot of people wear clothes like that, and if you were in the apocalypse, you would definitely not do that. An amazing feature would be the ability to wear a jacket over a shirt, much like a vest.

This can have many uses and effects, such as temperature, moisture, and storage space. Of course, if a player has a shirt and a jacket on, they would hear up easier. For moisture, if it rains, then the extra layer may act as a buffer to delay the time it takes for the player to experience the soaking status. Storage space can also be increased slightly by wearing a shirt with some storage capacity over a jacket with storage space.

This is something I have been thinking about since day one of playing the game, so I am eager for this feature and interested to see what other effects of this feature may be!

I agree with you fully. While this had been suggested numerous times. I don't think people can begg for it enough. This is something that we need in DayZ because of the reasons you mentioned. Unfortunatly though, one of the devs said that we probably wont see this either until the full game, or not at all because of clipping issues. I really hope though that they find away to bypass this!

I think this would be good but for only shirt/sweater under a jacket. Without jacket layering over a shirt I feel that the tactical shirt is under used. Why would you choose this shirt over a military jacket since the latter helps keep you dry. Furthermore, the clothing clipping would not be a factor if they simply did not render the shirt texture when layered.
