DayZ Overwatch

Recommended Posts

Hi,

This being the first post on this website I figured I'd do some explaining about my idea. It's an idea I thought of a couple of weeks ago. Me and my friend were playing and we experienced a rather odd death. As we were debating whether they were hackers or not I thought of something. Recently I was made an Overwatch case reviewer and I figured something similar in Dayz would be fantastic. Now I realize it's definetly a very difficult and expensive thing to have, but think about it: If all playthroughs were recorded and then reviewed by trusted members of the DayZ community we could significantly cut down on hackers. In a game like CS:GO it's difficult to see if anyone is for instance walling or aiming but in such an open game like DayZ it could be really easy to see if anyone is using any sort of cheats. Hackers are a problem in DayZ and nobody likes hackers in any game. I see this as a method of significantly improving the game and getting rid of most of the hackers, I've heard of people quitting the game simply because of hackers.

Where are you going to store all the videos? Who is going to pay for that monumental amount of space?

Who is going to review the videos? How will they be paid? If they're volunteers, what incentive do they have to watch hours and hours of videos?

How will this get rid of hackers? Will they not simply get a new account every time they're caught?

In my opinion, any solution that is reliant on human interaction is a band-aid at best and will never work efficiently enough to warrant its use. The only viable solution is improved anti-cheat software.
