Killcam (hear me out on this)

I hate when I just drop dead for no reason! I know someone shot me probably, but what I would like to know is exactly how they just did it. Example; I get shot while in a building or something, can I get a replay of exactly where the guy who killed me was or something for future reference! Also why the F#@! does body armor do nothing?

Welcome to DayZ. You WILL die many times without knowing why. Staying out of sight is your main defense against this. Long periods of scouting also help too, if you must go into a dangerous location.

When you say "hear me out" that normally implies that you have some sort of actual reason for aforementioned thing and you're going to present your idea in a concise, realistic, and logical sort of manner that will at least give some merit to the mechanic you wish to implement.

Thats prob not going to happen. This isn't like COD or GTA or something like that...just not that type of game.

 

I will respectfully ask are you new to DayZ SA? To begin with the best armored items are the High Cap Vest and G Helmet with visor, I would say those peices a gear maybe able to take 2 direct hits. If your completly heathy, you might be able get shot 2 to 4 times and live MAX....Thats all kind give or take wishy washy too, depending on were your hit. If running around with a starving none heathy avatar with bad gear, you prob are only one direct hit could kill you. So really you just cant get shot that many times, the key is not to get shot.

 

Having your avatar healthy and well geared improves your odds a little bit. I tell you this from exp, if you survive it, some of your stuff will be ruined and you will have to recover your avatar too and re gear some of your items. Unless you just dont care, there are many the dont really care if they live or not...like the half hazard asshat that tried to sneak up on me last night. I put him on a tee and feild goal kicked his dumb ass right back to coast!

yeah no healthy character an all. But i know about the ping stuff, they really need to tighten up the stability issues before they add anything else

beans are similar to 'likes' the more beans you have, the better! and that little label above your name changes and on your profile it shows the number of beans you have accumulated over time.

Maybe cause there is really no body armor in game yet thankfully.

 

Afaik theres only soft body armor so rifle rounds should penetrate it like butter.

Don't forget that if your character has been beaten up a lot over time, the more likely to suffer a one hit death even if fully healthy. There's a video on YouTube that tested the theory and found it to be true.

I think you will find that the press vest is the most protective vest, by far. Been shot many, many times with these on and survived.

dayz is not the type of game where you can expect like: "ok ill rest in this house for a few mins, eating and inventory sortout and stuff, think none saw me so i cant get shot here"

 

thats already the wrong way to think, always expect everything at any given time, a pixel wide opening in the window can get you shot if you are unaware of your surroundings,

never expect to be alone in a city, always expect and try to spot snipers around the town you are in because if you dont you are just running into his bullet and the dude prolly runs to your dead body so quick just to laugh at you before the 30secs run out.

 

just always think 1 step ahead.... these are just those basic shooter game rules that "shouldnt" even be considered in a game like dayz, but, there are just these types of cod and bf players in this game, which make these basic rules actually relevant in dayz, so use that damn knowledge...

Press vests are asome, there pretty rare, if your find one ware it. I pretty much only ever found those at train stations.

really? well that actually kinda explains what happened, i fought a bunch of zombies just before getting jumped!
