How to set 21:9 Aspect Ratio for ultra-wide monitor ?

Recommended Posts

I have 3440x1440 ultra wide monitor with aspect ratio 21:9.

There is no in-game setting to set a proper aspect ratio, so when I try any available ratios (16:9,16:10), game image always has fish-eye effect. Changing field of view doesn't help too.

How can I set 21:9 aspect ratio in DayZ.cfg ?

I believe that Powerhouse is suggesting that you manually edit your DayZ configuration file. By default it is located in the DayZ folder, which may be found in your Documents folder. The name of the file is DayZ.CFG and you can edit it using notepad. You may want to consider making a back-up copy of this file, before you do anything, though.

Cheers!

Thanks, but answers above are worthless.

I'm not asking not about resolution, but about ASPECT RATIO.

I don't see aspect ratio variable in DayZ.CFG and all available values in game settings are not suitable for 3440x1440 resolution which requires 21:9 aspect ratio.

To help you understand what aspect ratio is - these three images show the same 3440x1440 resolution with different aspect ratios. Neither of these ratios are correct and image is either stretched or shrinked.

You can try it via Controlpanel of your Videodriver. i had same problem other way around in FIFA 15 bcoz it does support only 16:9 and i am using 4:3

But maybe you know it already.

And to be honest 21:9 is really rare and most games i know does not support it.

I think this is the aspect ratio:

Open your config file, located here : C:\Users\SmashT\Documents\DayZ\Your name.Profile

Open with a text editor and edit these lines for 21:9 :

fovTop=0.75;

fovLeft=1.7777778;

Or:

fovTop=0.80000001;

fovLeft=1.87;

Or:

fovTop=0.94;

fovLeft=2.1900001;

It works! Now my screen proportions are correct. Thank you.
