falling penalites and broken leggs.

I think falling penalties should be nerfed or at least should they should be based on probability...

Ok I understand that its a pre alpha stage game but the reason I think this should be implemented (and I dont think it does need very much time or staff resources to make that change happen) the fall nerfing isnt the glitched that make you fall for no good reason and brake a leg.

Its just illogical sometimes.. I mean I broke a leg (because of terrain glitch actually) from falling from a like 3 meter high point... my little nephew could fall that high without being hurt and my grown ass muscular character broke his leg (and basically died after proning like 1000 meters searching in like 30 buildings to find a damn injection) -btw why are some servers called "high loot" and "mega loot" if you cant find a damn potato in almost the entire town? anyway that was off topic and just wanted to mention it...


So I think people shouldnt be able to receive so much damage from small falls! and even for little higher falls (like 4 to 7 meters high) there should be just a change (like 50 or 60%) to brake a legg.


Also as the game collision are today on this pre alpha stage its impossible to get in some doors because they have a small pavement in front of them and I think that should be fixes... its like 10cm above the ground you are pronning and yet you cant overcome this great obstacle...no matter if your life depends on it. also going up stairs while proning (reminder: because of your broken legg) are impossible.. actually you can trick the collision if you try to strafepron in various angles to get over the first stair step from there you can pron on the stairs.. but thats unnecessary and time consuming and inconvenient. 


Last but not least there should be some tools you could craft to help you with a broken legg (like using duct tape with some sticks to support your legg) so that you could walk slowly or at least stand still in a straight position so that you would be able to get loot from shelfs (an other time I happened to break my legg -again because buggy terrain) I found an injection but couldn't reach it because it was on a shelf...

And don't tell me that adds realism... there is no way (even with two broken leggs for crying out loud) a grown ass man counlt (with much pain and agony etc ok) to reach a shelf in order to save his life....

no death for falling til they fix the location desycn. how can we test the game propper when , we have to avoid above floor building cus they may brake our legs or death!... take way damage on fall till you fix the location lag issue, else, we have to avoid large areas of the game till its fixed!

because it doesn't happen to everyone thus they need to keep it on to collect data for those that it happens to.  Want a tip to prevent it happening?  Stop running full tilt through buildings.  You're welcome.

Added: they don't need more info on why it happens, its a side effect of dsync fix (the 2-5 min re sync), they made a new bug, and we know what it is, no more date needed 

 

interpolates location, they messed up, they got it wrong! 

 

3 mins later, your messed up. if i know what makes it happens, and even you :P then its time to temp cut fall damage till its fixed

But it doesn't happen to me and has never happened to me.  How do you suppose they fix something when it's turned off and they aren't collecting data about it?

i know what your saying :) but all the data they get not gonna make a difference, they can still get data on it and not kill you

the death data, and how you dies, they dont log (as show when they posted death on experimental a few months ago)

also, its a very much reported issue, and they know the issue, and just waiting a fix, but for not reason we still having to die from it, when it could be shut off till fixed... just like they have before with other broken game systems. bad form Bi

 

added: if they need more data, you don't kill player, just have event report a damage flag (but dont pass the damage to player),and not kill player. means player can then go on and maybe fall again and generate more death fall flags, giving better feedback. that's how it should be done. you know i am right :P

if dayz needs a analytical literal annalist, i will do for 45 k (meh change my mind, make it 65) Uk pound a year :P as i can see you don't have one

One word for you: Splint.

Funnily enough, it's basically that suggested recipe, only easier. A Bandage/Rags + Sticks = Splint.

lol really? didnt even try because I thought it would be impossible (since the alpha lacks so many things :P ) thanks I try it next time... but I hope it wont happen to me soon I just got energised,hydrated,healthy have weapon+axe+food+medkit+tested blud and everything for transfusion,+painkillers+antibiotics etc +compass and map... Now my journey will be to try find some good military gear in the bases... (surprisingly I found a scope+flashlight+stock for an m4 on a tavern outside Kehlm :P)

I agree with you, I just find it reasonable and fair not to receive damage from low falls (which wouldn't hurt you in real life either)  and to change the 100% leg break after impact since even in real life if you jump from somere high (i dont mean like 20 meters or so of course) its 100% that you break something.

+1 for this. I fell from the top of a silo once and died, to me that made sense even if it was extreme. However just the other day i was up in a castle and lagged off the stairs and fell a whopping seven feet...

 

I died instantly when I hit the ground. That's just ridiculous. There shouldn't even be damage falling from 7 feet, maybe just a blur graphic and a grunt of pain, but no last effects. You shouldn't even be getting to broken legs until 10-15 feet or more.

Also while there at it, add an animation when you break a leg that you acctually are in pain. Like the character falling to hes knees and hands on the ground or something like that. Not just standing there like a stick and then just lay down. Know it's and alpha so they are probably gona imploment that for the finall releas. Anyways just wanted to mention it ;)
