Water and food

Recommended Posts

I wouldn't mind slight variation in starting gear, provided all the starts are more or less equal in terms of loot value. One player might start with more inventory slots, while another might start with an unopened can of beans. Plays into the inherent unfairness of DayZ without spawning some players with AKMs and others with screwdrivers.

In regards to food and drink, I'd like it to be very difficult to reach hydrated/ energised. As it stands (or last I played) all you needed was a well and a bag of rice and you're set for the next hour or so. Try that in real life and you'll probably rupture your stomach. So reaching those statuses should take a lot longer, and require the player to store food rather than eating it all at once.

In regards to time scale, I'd like to see something like an hour/ 30 minute day/night cycle. As someone who doesn't have time to play DayZ for 24 hours at a time, I'd rather like to be able to play at day and night in the same 1 - 2 hour play session rather than be stuck in perpetual night or day.

Aww the E-Tool! I think both of us suggested that on sep threads. You suggested it 1st, so its all you. Regardless I fully support that item being added. It can cut, you can use it can be used to fight (vary effective) and most of all dig with. Its also pretty small when its folded, and what better add for dayz.

Yeah but actually I think you might have suggested it a bit before me. But, I am sure lots of folks have lusted for an E-Tool. In any case an E tool would be perfect multi tool for a survivalist. When extended it stores on the outside of the pack, when collapsed it stores in the pack (2 slots?), when used as a weapon it delivers damage similar to a machete, and you can dig up worms, edible roots, and onions with it as well as chop down brush for a fire. Yes it would be a great addition for DayZ

It would also be nice to be able to craft a few other things like: a small over the shoulder 6 slot leather possibles bag, and a six slot buckskin or leather jacket and many other items such as the coveted Wolf's head hat. Cave Man Gear!

the only thing i think the devs should add at spawn is a water bottle and/or some fruit.

its one of the best feelings, having a geared up player, mosin, lrs, sidearm, etc. , and knowing you got there from NOTHING but a tshirt, flash light, and leg power

I would say 2 slots, but more ideal I think would be to have it cliped on to the back pack like you said. Kind of like how the fish hook is with the booney hat. Yep yep about the same damage as machete.

I am kind of a surivalist nerd when I play dayz. Even though anymany ways .50 is better then .49. But loot spawns were rarer in .49 and the weather was colder  making harder to survive in. The weather effects were kind of crude though, but I got a taste of what the finished game maybe like and I liked what I saw. It created some interesting fun challenges I wasn't even ready for at 1st. I grew to like it after a while. I was forced to hunt and build fires, not becuase I wanted too, becuase the game made me do it. I was forced to plan out what I was doing more thoughtfully. That is what I want to see more of it in dayz. .50 I love the new items, there great. But theres so much loot...sounds funny to complain about. But it takes the challenge away from surviving.

Caveman gear would be asome. Would be pretty cool, to just walk out in the woods, and not some what, but completly survive off the land. Its getting there, but theres much work ahead. Tool making would be asome to see. Stuff like sticks to create fires. Spear fishing and the list goes on. Would be asome! It would also really add an more apoc feel to the game. Citys should become weathered and rundown I think, even more dangerous, loot spawns much more random. You want gear you have to face danger lol other wise try to make it out in the woods lol
