Hang on the actual back

Recommended Posts

Now this is just an idea to make your character look better. You all know that you can put one "long" shoot weapon on your left side of your back. And a melee weapon on your right. Wouldn't it make more sense if at least the shooting weapons had a rope or anything that it hangs in around your ahoulder. So it doesn't just flote in the air close to your character. And maybe some changes of how the melee weapon hangs on your body to. Just make the "model" look better and more realiaic in that way. Hope you understand what I wrote.

Yeah this would help - there have been a fair few suggestions relating to rifle slings and straps (including improvised e.g. rope).

I assume that the reason it works as it, is technical. Proper animations are very time consuming, so any design suggestion has to to account for flexibility. For example the current system allows them to place any weapon on your back and move it with character regardless of what he does or what he wears.

In your case an mosin strapped on your shoulder would look nice when you stand, how would it look when you run, sprint? what about a shorter weapon or when you are using a melee for attacks ... the strap will likelly create clippings issues with different types of clothing, during animations etc.

Yeah I agree with Mor. A lot of the visual issues are mainly due to how complex and time consuming they are. And even after that there'll be issues like clipping just like Mor said where peopel are just gonna complain about even after that. There's a lot of other more useful things they could be working on, which is the main reason they're not focused on the nitty gritty at the moment.
