any updates for ETA of release?

Recommended Posts

How about you go follow your own advice and search for it. Again, more people saying "idk" and nobody knows and shit. I was asking a simple question. I was not asking the broad question itself, I was more or less comparing the fact that there have been several times given, so I wanted to clear things up. It was said to be finished end of 2014, early 2015, now they are saying MAYBE 1 vehicle by end of year, ive heard end of 2015/early 2016, theres tons of different times being thrown around. I was simply looking for a more concrete answer. I bought this product, I think I have the right to know when my investment will pay out.

In short how dare you post before you even read my post, you just saw the title and said "im gonna be a dick and go tell this kid to search it" even though searching simply yields more of the idks and stuff. Go search for it yourself, there are no answers out there.

Development is going to take as long as it is going to take. The last estimate that I heard was a year and a half from now, though I dont remember the source.

You seem to already have all the information that you need to answer your own question. It will be done when its done. This is an early access alpha, no firm date for release or beta. It is about a year and a half into a three year development cycle. The first iteration of vehicles is coming 'soon'.

And I will concede that the search was a bit less than helpful. However you didnt buy a product. You invested in the development and are permitted to participate in an early access alpha. No timeline or guarantee was given to you. When its considered finished by the developers you will be given your full copy.

Youll find that many Early access devs give no dates unless they are 100pc sure that a "thing" will happen.

I have many "Early Access" and "Alpha" games and almost none have a definitive timeline.

Game development can be incredibly fluid and often things can crop up at the last minute which can delay a publication etc. The sheer rage and angst that generates is not worth handling, so its easier for everyone including the fans to be somewhat oblique.

As we get closer to release and feature lock etc youll see dates becoming generally firmer. Mostly...

Everything in life can be incredibly fluid, just the other week our insulator bill got very fluid :rolleye: but at the same time everyone give estimates as a matter of transparency.

I can understand the rage that delays can create, but I am not asking for exact shipping date, but something as general as late 2015, early 2016, 2017? ..

Also I don't know what "Early Access" games you subscribe to, but on the ones that I do and that are led by ~similar sized studios, we had a tentative release date, which IMO encourage confidence.

However, if that date changes the people that want it so badly cry as if the sky were falling down.,

Having played the game since Early Access began, all the proof I need is in watching the game develop at a rather brisk pace. Any transparency I could want is provided by the dev's interviews, as well as the dev blog.

It was "stated" at the start of the early access alpha that DayZ won't be reaching beta until at least year end of 2014 to sometime in 2015.  All the information is there if people would stop being so goddamn lazy.

I don't know if you are to stupid or just didn't bother to read the thread or its title.

a. The question is when the game will be released, not some non committal statement about when its beta stage isn't.

b. People come to the official dayz forum for a reason, suggesting that they are lazy\stupid and should go google it aren't constructive, even trollish as in the case of some of the other posters.

c. If you believe that the information is there, despite the FAQ and the mods\others just stating that there is non at this point, be constructive and provide updated info\link instead of implying through your post that they are lazy\stupid.

I'd say probably 2017 or early 2018. They will have to spend another year fixing no cliping zombies who hit you on the ground level while you above and such... Also firetation death floors should take at least another half of year of fixing. So yeah, I am realistic.

I own several EA games and I tend to keep my eye on others that I don't because I find this "buy and be a part of the development process" phenomen quite interesting. And I realized that, in the end, "alpha", "beta" and "finished" are just labels and have no real meaning. Early access is a true risk for us costumers.

This is the thing that eats me up, Way way way back before "SA" we had the "MOD" and everyone whinged and bitched about it. And everyone was screaming for the game to be realeased, people were saying we don't care just release the fucking thing already. Choo Choo went the Hype Train and after months of people wishing and waiting we finaly get a Early Access SA. Yay i was happy (and still am) but now we have a lot of "New Faces" who don't even bother to use the Search Function or bother reading old posts and just SPAM the fuck out of this forum with Constant Shit posts. For fucks sake people enjoy it for what it is......................  Or don't simple

They used o have very clear meanings, but I'd say those have most definitely become blurred.

Why do these Topics always end in squabbles and bickering, the OP question was quite simple as is the answer, all you need to do is look through the different information that has been published across the different medias, including these very Forums.

No Date has been given for release !

"We're trying to effectively do a 3 year standard cycle in 2 to 2.5 years."
