Sa vz. 58

The SA vz. 58 is a 7.62x39mm assault rifle of Czechoslovakian origin designed in 1956. The SA vz. 58 externally resembles the Soviet AK-47 but is substantially different internally. The SA 58 is being retired from service in the Czech army. The gun would of most likely made its way into the hands of chernarussians due to the location of Chernarus. In-game, the gun would be less common then the AKM.

It'd be a little unique to the rest of the weapons as when you'd have a magazine in it you could load it with stripper clips as well as swapping magazines. Fun to shoot.

Yes, awesome gun and suits the Czech Republic sort of post soviet state they're going with.

Should be found in police stations as well as barracks, because I'm quite sure it is used as a police firearm too.

In my country (New Zealand) some police cruisers have a draw in the boot with an M4 in it.

So maybe the randomly spawning police cars could also have a chance to have a rifle like this in the boot.

Due to the location of Chernarus http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/52/ArmA2_Chernarus_factbook_map.jpg it's not obvious if this gun would made its way into the hands of chernarussians or not. No one knows where exactly Chernarus is placed, but you can be sure it's not even close to the Czech Republic because of that large sea to the south, and Russia to the north.

Anyway, these rifles are lately easy to obtain in gun shops in some countries as CZ858 (semi auto only), but here in ex-communist countries there are not too many guns around and especially ex military rifles.

It would be more realistic to add sporting/hunting guns instead of military. From what I know there was a prototype of SA58 for hunters, with very short (3 round) magazine, longer barrel and completely new stock, also with scope mount. Something like that should fit the theme better. It's not western country where assault rifles can be found at every corner :)

It is lighter and uses a stiffer forged receiver. It's striker fired and has a tipping bolt more reminiscent of the sks vs the rotating bolt of the AK. Should be marginally more accurate due to the receiver. Marginally meaning probably no difference when shooting off hand, but if fired under strict objective circumstances, I'd bet it would be measurable. That being said I have a major hard on for forged components and striker fired guns. Thumbs up from me.

You have a point, no one knows where Chernarus is located. That said however, Chernarus is geographically based of an area in the Czech Republic.

It is not automatic. It is a semi auto civilian version of the sa 58 that has been imported.

SA Vz.58's made it all over the planet, just as the AK-47, AKM, Type 56, and most other AK variants did, even though the Vz.58 isn't actually an AK.

 

Chernarus is likely situated somewhere around Asia Minor, possibly by modern Turkey, of course it's a fictional Earth so it could be anywhere. However, it's never been proven for sure, and we know that the Czech Republic was a huge basis for how Chernarus was designed, so I wouldn't say that the Vz.58 is at all out of place.
