Tent problem?

Hey guys,

 

basically I killed 2 guys (w/ hacked m4s, sigh) at the berezino docks (L-Shape) from 900+ meters (without a compensator :O).

They were camping, literally, and had two tents right by each other (probably duped tents). Now I looted the bodies, hid the corps' and packed one tent and took it in my hands and switched to a low populated server. Now my question is, does the tent stay at the very same server after a server restart? And it's content? I've heared that it is not working yet or so and that there'll be a hotfix by the devs later this weekend, don't know if it's true though. So have you guys had any experiences so far with the tents?

 

And btw. how do I insert images on my posts? Sorry for that noob question.

As far as I've read and seen, I've seen two different things from people, it seems like tents disappear with restarts but I've also seen people say that their tents don't disappear but the items inside of it do.

But from my understanding constant items are not currently saving to the hive with server restarts. Better to be safe and keep the tent on your body until an update comes out to hotfix this issue.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll probably wait until some kind of hotfixupdate will be up. Do you know how to upload a picture on a comment/post? It's a screenshot of the 2 bodies and the 2 tents.

If u playin on stable, there is no persistance for items or storage.

Tents are completely impervious to gunshots all the way around. Use them as mobile cover.

Had this very same issue, Plopped a tent, put some unimportant items in it (No way I was getting Alpha'd out of my good stuff) Server restarted, Tent gone, Server title said "Persistence: On". and I was logged in for the server restart, standing beside the tent, logged back in a minute or two after server restart, no tent, no players in server, just gone. It's cool since Adv weather is being deployed we're all gonna want shelter from the rain in disappearing tents. :P

No point keeping hold of it at the moment because the next update (pencilled in for the end of the month) includes a complete wipe of all characters to eliminate hacked mags and duped gear.

Yeah I can confirm also that tents disappear when the server resets. I placed my tent in the middle of no where then within an hour on an empty server, after a restart, I went back and it was gone.

But on a sidenote:

With the next stable patch all characters &servers will be wiped, probably (so you start as a fresh-spawn again)

tents 100% work, only on (persistence enabled) servers, but sometimes they go down, and never go back up, but the items DO stay, i came back after about 10 days, everything was still there, no missing items, and everything still fine.

 

this is off my own experience with tents.

 

don't listen to the others who say they don't work.

 

people are also saying that its not really worth having a tent yet, because of the character wipe, which is completely false, because i doubt that update is coming any time soon. (don't trust my word 100%, but we've never gotten an update on schedule)

My friends and I have been collecting tents and taking them into the same spot on multiple servers. Some seem to stay through server restarts and some disappear never to be seen again...  I'll keep my fingers crossed that they will randomly reappear again, but somehow I doubt it.

Don't act like you know everything. I for one have experienced my tent disappearing on my home persistent server. There is either a 50/50 shot that it won't stay, or they don't work all together. I left the server for an hour to got eat, came back and it was gone. The server had just reset prior to me getting back.
