Signs to tell if someone is hostile

universal wisdom if I've ever heard it.  XD

Hold on, I wear a mask mostly because I try to find the Payday set but I am usually friendly unless fired upon first.

I keep my gun pointed at people all the time when I run into them, it's the only way to be sure they won't try anything without having to kill them outright.

Good way to get shot by me!

Don't trust people without mics. May sound bad, but it is a lot easier to betray you with no mic, as they do not give away signs in their voice, and can often do suspicious things with less notice. If they have no mic and do something wierd, they are likely to ignore you when asked. If they had a mic, they may be stuttering for a bad explanation.

I think every kind of "confrontation" can end badly. I avoid other players or at least try to communicate while covered up behind trees/bushes/walls etc.

You never know what the other one is up to. But if he seems

- young

- and/or dumb

- and/or is obviously lying

you should get away or shoot. Or at least I would.

I have a rifle and a handgun, and I only engage if I see the other person has no weapon or only a melee weapon.  Better safe than sorry.

Eh I wear a mask. (Well I did until my character got randomly deleted last night) And I let four people live yesterday. The clothes you wear and the way you act initially towards other people does not inherently determine whether you are actually friendly or not. Two of those guys I had the muzzle of my shotgun in their faces nearly the entire time I was speaking to them.

As I've said before I only KOS when I feel it is necessary to do so. Situations such as feeling directly threatened, or desperate for a particular item that I know for a fact that they have in their possession and would not be willing or able to give me. I wear a mask partly for aesthetic reasons, separating me from the rest of the crowd wearing ballistic helmets and such (because apparently you can't wear a helmet with a mask anymore which is pretty lame and kinda unrealistic), and partly because I like the feeling of anonymity that it gives me.

If you feel threatened, then by all means open fire Gordon, open fire! If you run into a UN clan member, kill them. Don't wait for them to grief you and then either change servers or get the hell out of dodge cuz those kids travel in packs. If you see a guy running through a town with a mask on and you don't trust us mask folk, don't approach, don't shoot. Just leave/stay away.

Unfriendly traits:

- Circles you or your friends

- Keeps sprinting around paranoidly

- Seem to be in another voice-chat/Takes forever to reply

- Wants you to follow them to X location right after initial contact

- Still keeps yelling "friendly friendly!" long after you've both declared friendly intentions

- Sound like a salesman in general

(D/W: I won't neccesarily shoot you if you trigger one or two of these^)

Friendly traits:

- Holsters whatever weapon(earlier the better)

- Quick responses/Mic on all the time

- Alone/Small group

- Alerts me of any nearby dangers

- Seem relatively new to the game

Sounds more like someone with ADHD. Why are you being discriminative?

Seems relatively new? Oh, you mean like shiney? Washed? Polished?
