r4z0r49 4761 Posted February 14, 2015 Tinned food is pretty much cooked before being added to a tin your just warming it up (there's no chance of infection from tinned food) and we have no way to see if a tinned object has been warm for too long to set it cold again. But with meat you can still eat cooked meat cold so we really don't have to do much to keep immersion to some degree. This is also one of the reasons we still haven't added stuff like brew's (hot drinks) we just dont have any way we can see if the food item is hot or cold. combining food items is the way to go for giving more nutrition its one of the reasons the plastic tub was added we just haven't got around to using it.
