Delay on posting changelogs

Recommended Posts

Guys, this is a problem that maybe I am the only one to note, but every time I see a game update i go to check changelogs to see what is changed, what is new, and what has been fixed, so I can try to check if things are really solved or not, or if the game has been improved or not after the update.

It's just a way to help to the alpha game development in a much more easier and faster way.

But everytime we update the game, we have to wait hours to see what is really changed, and so what we have to check, and last but not least, what we have to enjoy.

I am just wondering if it's possible to develop updates with changelogs attached to them, because who is playing wanna know what is playing, and because we know how updates are done and also that developers have a giant list of what they have changed before than updates came out.

I think this is not just a kind of behavior, but an issue about respect of alpha gamers.

IMHO.

What do you think about it guys?

If you stay up-to-date with DayzTV, you'll know about 90% of the things being added in before they go public.

Sure, but I need something official from developers, not just from a very solid community.

I just explained why. Didn't I?

Hello and welcome to the Forum,

I see this is your first post and you're most likely not aware, but the patchnotes are posted directly with the update on the same day in this section:

Same day, not same time.

I try to avoid them at first to see if there are any noticeable and visual changes. I dont really care much, if they are posted later that day.

As the admin posted, they post one up a little while after the update goes public. I think you can survive a few hours without the changelog.

What's the difference? For obvious reasons it's being done by either Hicks (Producer) or Matt (Production Assistant) themselves instead of someone else - but this also means that they only have the time to do it as soon as they're sure the hive is updated and Steam is as well. They can't be everywhere at the same time, meaning there will always be some delay - I am sure you will survive the delay of usually a few minutes to maximum a few hours.

It's not like it's being delayed for days.
