You cannot play/edit this mission; it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted

Recommended Posts

So I got this error this morning (5am) spent all day trying various "fixes" I've found around the internet how ever they were all for slightly different errors. I get this when joining a certain server I've been playing for the last few days, and ONLY this certain server. There's been no updates and I've tried a TON of different thing including fresh install.

The server is an Overpoch Napf server and I can join other Overpoch Napf servers with no issue. Secondly, this server has 2 other servers owned by the same owner, one of which is password protected and despite never joining the other 2 I can not join them now (have been talking to owner about the problem, we are both stumped)

I'll insert a ss/link of the error

As you can see there appears to be a number of files missing, now I was playing this yesterday at 5pm with no issue, logged back on 12 hours later with absolutely no changes made on my end and suddenly cannot join. To reconfirm I can join other Napf/Cherno servers just fine but cannot join 2 other different servers owned by the same owner. Also he has confirmed he and other people (currently 18 people on the server) can still join his servers just fine.

So this seems to affect only me, but only on these 3 servers.

I've yet to find this EXACT same error anywhere, however I've seen plenty of the general same error, eg cannot play, deleted content etc, just different files (usually a ,Chernarus or other such map specific folders) however I still tried the possible fixes to no avail.

I'm hoping someone here know the right fix for this as I've even gone as far as to fresh install everything and it still won't work. The only reason I'm still trying is because this server fits everything I want perfectly in a server including a non-existant player base as I'm strictly a solo PVE player and hate being killed all day.

Hopefully someone here can please help me out as I've come to the end of my rope and can really only consider giving up at this stage.

Forgot to add I'm using Dayz Commander, states all mods are upto date.

Thanks in advance

Murdoch

Make sure you're atually launching the mod you're trying to play. You will see in the mainmenu after launching / after getting the error in the bottom right, which versions are loaded (mods, ARMA 2 version, etc)

Moved to Mod-section

I got this problem every time I logged in on every server I ever played on, I just hit continue and it let me load into the game no problem.. is it kicking you out of the server? If so the server admin/owner should see a script ran in the console about why you were kicked.

EDIT: If you are using DayZ Commander (I highly suggest you do.) you will be able to see all if anything is outdated. Also make sure you have this in your launch paramaters.< -mod=@DayZOverWatch; > I'm sure you do as you said you've been playing it for the past few days but still, check everything.

I'm using Dayz Commander to launch.

It is running the following mods

Arma 2

British Armed Forces (Lite)

Private Military Company (Lite)

@DayzOverwatch

Arma 2

Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead

Beta

Expansion

Dayz Epoch 1.0.5.1

Should it be running 2 instances of Arma 2? I have no option to disable

Also ty for moving to appropriate forum

The only option I have is in the screen shot an "continue" button that takes me back to main menu

Ahhhhhh, that one.. I was being a lazy fuck and didn't look at the link. :P Go to steam, right click Arma II and Arma II: OA go to properties, go to local files, click on "Verify integrity of game cashe" this will take about 15 min per game roughly. Once you are done with that open both games and get to the main menu on both of them, close them out and try DayZ again. If that doesn't work I suggest full re-install.

This won't change anything about the fact, that he's launching the wrong / no mods at all, which is why it's showing those messages.

Please make sure this is happening on all servers and that you're trying to join the correct version. You always have to match the exact versions of the server you're trying to join.

I've had this exact problem that he is having, it was only on certain servers. It would be fine for a week or so, maybe longer then randomly you'd start getting that message making it impossible to join the game. So I joined a new server, same versions of everything, same mod and it was just fine. I did exactly what I suggested and it fixed it for me. But taking a look back at the kick message it all seems to be Overwatch related so maybe uninstall that mod and reinstall it? I'll leave this to forum mods so they can do their job.. :P

Yes I've always ensured I have the correct game versions, and I do currently. Also as stated prior I have no issues joining other NAPF epoch servers, currently I'm playing a new one as i type this,

Also I have done 2 complete reinstalls

If you do not have problems on any other servers, it is safe to assume that it is the servers fault rather than yours.

Simply play on another server, there are loads of poorly administrated servers out there.

That's what I thought but he has 18+ people playing on it just fine. and I just liked it because it had everything I liked plus no one to kill me lol.

Besides what's to say it won't happen on the next server I start playing on after a few days. Would like to know I have a fix really. Also I'm a kiwi, so there;s not really a huge selection of servers over here that tick all the boxes. In fact there's only 4 or 5 Napf Overpoch servers under 50 ping

Restarting Dayz commander and Steam and then relaunching the server from Dayz commander worked for me

Dayz Commander is mostly dead, .. wasteland.. less and less can connect through it.

Since the closing of gamespy, steam has taken over the way you connect.

To Join MOST DAYZ servers, Epoch , DAYZ etc .. you will need to have a steam account, and a steam version of Arma2 combined Operations, if you bought a retail version, you need to register it for free at steam and convert to steam version. You best bet is to uninstall all versions of arma2 , and re-download them,

You will also need DayZ Launcher, you can forget Commander.. unless the owner of commander gets off his butt and makes this work .. it sort of does now, sometimes.

He dropped the ball, and Launcher stepped up to the plate.

I had this problem, if your'e using a launcher sometimes it forgets to launch the game with the mod you want to play regardless of the server versions etc.

So to fix it put this into your launch parameters

-mod=@DayZ_Epoch

the parameters should be located somewhere in the settings

putting these in will make sure that you launch with the Epoch mod

if you want to launch with another mod you will have to find the parameters for that specific mo
