Sprained Ankle (instead of instant broken leg)

I've thinking about how there are times (most likely related to bugs) where you step off a small ledge and get the instant broken leg. I've been cruising the forums are realized there are a lot of complaints about it so I thought, what could they do to make the situation better?

 

Here is my idea:

 

Instead of getting a "instabreak" from a small ledge, there should be a height set to were the player would potentially get a sprained ankle instead of a instant broken leg. It could be set so the sprain could be random (ie- sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't) and the heights could be within a certain parameter.

 

Results of a sprained ankle could be that the player can only walk, not run, and stairs would be very, very, very slow to use. A sprained heal rate could be possible 1 in-game hour.

 

Thoughts? Suggestions?

yea, a and should add  more common things. like a nails...to craft something like this Nail_Bat_FF7.png

they should add more little things, that gives chance to do a lot more things. hammer is already in the game, than why should they couldn`t add something of this?

 

also i want to see bycicle ( flat tire ) not some cars

I like this idea -- you could use a pressure bandage to wrap the ankle to gain some mobility, then take pain killers to get back to normal.  I really hate that they only have broken/not broken status right now.  There's also this weird 'my leg is in pain' status that I don't understand though... maybe they intend it to be like this when the game is released?

What on Earth does this have to do with twisted ankles?  Make a new thread bro....  Or search for 'nails' and add to one of those topics.

so you basically want the status "broken leg" to be renamed "sprained ankle"?

 

 

No. With the broken leg you can't walk. Only crawl. With the sprained ankle you could walk, but slowly. Also, another idea is maybe if you have a sprained ankle then using stairs would be a slow process.

I think you should be able to at least hop with a broken leg though.

Have you ever played with a broken leg? It's horrendous, especially if it happens somewhere random where you can't even kill yourself to save hours of rolling and then if any zombie spots you when you're actually trying to survive you're screwed.

 

But yeah right now I think they should just remove broken legs and add in sprained ankle then bring back broken legs when it's going to work properly and not just suddenly happen for no reason.

If I'm not mistaken I believe I saw something a while back in a dev blog or something about how they will make characters limp, when they have an injured leg, or something similar. I remember hearing something about showing your health status in how you move, for example if you have a fractured arm then you would be holding your arm to your chest, or a fracture in your leg you'd kind of drag it when you walk. Again, this was a while I ago that I heard of this and I can't remember the source I heard it from so don't take any of this as me saying it will be in the game.

you could actually craft this in the mod :p

 

Also doesn't the ankle thing already exist but just in the form of a fracture? Because I have had fractures in my leg before without breaking them, my player would just moan until I took some morphine. Its more like a crack in your leg. but if you leave the crack unattended the next time you trip will break them (happened to me).

An advanced medical system is planned, pretty sure it also handles stuff like different kind of fractures and injuries. I hope it will come soon cause I think its more important than cars or tents...

There's already a "my leg is painful" message that isn't the same as a broken leg. I'm not sure it has any effect except maybe vaulting (could've been a server issue though.) It's fixable with a splint. Similar message for arms too. 

 

So I'm sure it's coming.
