[Suggestion] Pocket UI for fast access

Recommended Posts

So, does anyone else think it's a little crazy that you have to open your whole inventory to access your pockets?  Also, why does the quick access bar give access to stuff buried in your backpack?

My suggestion is to get rid of that quick access bar and add a simple replacement that has a spot for your carried/slung weapons and a row showing everything in your pockets.  If you want something to be 'quick access' you just jam it in a pocket instead of in your bag.  Perhaps a key could be used to show the pocket contents so they aren't always there cluttering up things.

Opinions?

Yeah, I was always wondering why taking a weapon from the backpack was as fast as taking a weapon from the holster.

I like the quick access buttons though, maybe it should be animated how the character gets his backpack, opens it and picks the item.

Yes good idea. I think you should have to stop and take off your pack to access something inside it. Quick access to just your pockets is way more realistic.

Yeah I sort of suggested this a while back but for ammo.

Like using a shotgun you keep your ammo in your front left shirt pocket, fire your two shots, spin the mouse wheel and select "load from front left pocket" and your character does it instead of having to open up the menu which leaves you wide open.

But actual pockets couldn't fit much useful stuff in them though so I'm not sure why we'd need it for anything other than ammo they'd be perfect for mags or just rounds which would come in handy, especially mags just having them shouldn't enable a quick reload if they're at the bottom of the bag that's not how it would work..

I think I also suggested a craftable bullet belt and/or bullet belt you can find.

too much imo... how big do you want this action select field? i dont want to read 8 lines and finnaly choose the wrong option...because panic...

keep it simple because simple is good ;) exp. for ppl over 40 ;)

Well that would be a good thing, you should know what pocket your ammo is in but in a real life situation you might panic and forget or pick the wrong pocket.

So that would be cool in my opinion, though yeah 8 could be too much but it depends on what you're wearing.

It's still better than having to open a menu or for shotguns or the Blaze have speedloaders take up your inventory when anyone could pick a couple of rounds out their pocket and shove them in in seconds.
