I'm in desperate need of help

Recommended Posts

Hi guys

I'm having a bit of trouble here. I built myself a gaming rig and downloaded all my arma games and

dayz and stuff on it. I was able to play on overwatch and so on... Now i downloaded taviana.com on

Dayz commander and suddenly Arma 2 shows up in a yellow color in the mods section. It says: Arma2

Not found (out of date). When I try to download the latest version available on dayz commander,

it gives me 2 error messages. The first one says that my version (1.63) is more

recent than the version dayz runs on atm (1.62). The next one says 'wrong CD key'. I have been

searching for sollutions on the internet and I'm really stuck on it, so please help.

Some side information: I bought arma2 and OA on steam.

I will take it you installed the Steam-Version of ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead Beta? Because there has been an update today.

To fix this, do the following:

  • Delete the "ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead Beta" install from Steam
  • Go to your ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead installfolder (rightclick on Steam -> Properties -> Local Files -> Browse Local Files) and in there go the Expansion folder. Delete the "beta" folder in there.
  • Now go to your "Documents" folder (C:\Users\Username\My Documents\) and go to the ARMA 2 OA: Other Profiles folder. There should be an Expansion folder in there as well. Delete the "beta" folder in there as well.
  • Now download this file, extract and open the .exe in there: http://www.arma2.com/downloads/update/beta/ARMA2_OA_Build_103718.zip

Report back if it worked.

I will when I'm done re-installing everything. I deleted all my arma files just in case that would change anything.

That will work, as long as you have made sure to delete the files I have mentioned prior. Also make sure not to install "ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead Beta" from Steam again, as that is what's causing the issue.

It worked :D Thank you so much!!

By the way. I skipped your third step because there is no Arma2 OA: other profiles folder in my documents, so there also is no beta folder to be found there.

It worked just fine after going to my local files and deleting the beta folder there and re-installing the previous version. Now I can go on having loads of fun ;)

okay, same issues here, clearly something got updated or some settings preference changed with an update to have people with this issue.

i tried to follow your instructions exactly, but this was not possible, here's what i did do:

1. to delete OA2 beta from your Steam library requires the deletion of the installation files. once i did this the instructions became confusing so i reinstalled OA2 beta and began again.

2. skipping the delete from Steam noted above, i went to browse the local files in the install and deleted the beta folder located inside the Expansion folder:

E:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead\Expansion\beta

3. i then proceeded to C:\Users\MyUserName\My Documents\ however i did not find ARMA 2 OA: Other Profiles. i did find

C:\Users\MyUserName\My Documents\ARMA2 Other Profiles\ yet no Expansion folder.

above that was C:\Users\MyUserName\My Documents\ARMA2\expansion and inside there was a folder entitled beta which i deleted.

4. i then unzipped the download linked above into the expansion folder

C:\Users\MyUserName\My Documents\ARMA2\expansion\ARMA2_OA_Build_103718.exe

and then attempted to run the install as Admin, but received the same message that DayZCommander is giving me: "The version of ArmA2 OA (1.63) is more recent than this patch version (1.62)."

i then close that window message and receive a final message window stating "Wrong CD key."

admittedly Playke has a better grasp on what you are trying to communicate here than i do.

i don't know which local files he means when he says he deleted the beta folder there.

nor do i know which previous version he is reinstalling, nor where he is installing it.

my apologies for being a bit slower here, i still hope i can get some help.

thanks.

Everyone has that at times, don't worry about it.

Where are you stuck? The "Wrong CD-Key" is a message that kept popping up for me for ages when installing the Beta Patches - it never changed anything, though.

Make sure you delete your Steam Version of "Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead Beta" (Just the one that says Beta) - as that's causing the issues.

as of today i have uninstalled all ARMA games via Steam and then reinstalled the following:

Arma 2

Arma 2 BAF

Arma 2 PMC

and Arma 2 OA (not the beta)

now i am currently awaiting the download/install via DayZCommander of Arma 2 OA patch 1.62.

i am still quite unclear as to what happened to cause this particular fumble, but i would appreciate any explanations or theories concerning this so i can keep my eye open to prevent it happening again, or something similar.

For anyone who still has problems,

What i did today was (if using DayZ Commander)

1.Uninstall DayZ Commander.

2.Go to Local Disk C:

3.Program Files or Program Files x86.

4.Steam.

5.Steam apps.

6.Common.

7.Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead.

8.Delete all the @Dayz files weather its @dayz Epoch just anything that has @Dayz at the beginning.

9.Open Steam and uninstall Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead.

10.At the same time uninstall the Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead Beta.

11. Install Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead.

12.When that is fully installed, install the beta version.

13.Open them both up after installing them.

14.Reinstall DayZ Commander and click install next to Arma 2 in the install/update tab.

This should now help please reply if this works i really hope it works for you happy zombie killing! :D

You should not install it from Steam. That will give you a wrong version. On Steam only install ARMA 2 and ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead. You will have to install the Beta manually, for example using DayZCommander.
