Servers becoming a problem

Recommended Posts

It is truely becoming a problem finding a server to play on. I know there are the handful of public servers hosted by various server firms. They are usually alright. But every other server is becoming a problem. Not only has the "Experimental, dont join" "Character wipe dont join" servers mulitiplied, it also seems that most of the servers in existence now are so called clan servers. Some of those are good, but unfortunately in my experience most arent. There are still the usual ones kicking everyone without any warning, then theres the ones who kick everyone not joining a specifically named teamspeak channel, and of course then theres the vast majority, stating that it is a private server, some of them are even passworded, but most of them aren't. And most of them doesn't even mention it inthe server description in the server browser, you just notice it when you are kicked alongside all the rest of the players on the server.

Since I have experienced this on the majortiy of servers I join, I think this has become a major issue with this game. Sure, I have read all the guides as to how to report these servers, but they are actually the majority now. It is hundreds and hundreds of servers. It is a rather cumbersome system in the first place reporting a server, enough of a deterrent if it just concerned one of a couple of servers, but it is hundreds, in fact the majortiy on the server browser list. Reporting all those servers throught the usual channels would constitute a full time job for weeks. This is a major problem, and I say big enough to be a developer side problem.

Finding a server you won't be kicked from randomly has become one of the most pressing issues in the game in my experience, and this is a issue that really needs to be dealt with.

Don't know why this is in the "New player discussion". I meant to open it in the "General discussion" section.

Same problem, most of them are clan servers and they just kick players, reason: 1. not to let you loot when server restarts  2. if you kill them they will kick you to save the gear. reporting servers is useless and just a waist of time, you already paid for game, so they don't care about you anymore, that's how it works. Why not to break the rules when there no consequences?

Its only happened to me once, but I do appreciate the frustration.

They need stricter rules about the naming of servers, also some sort of system whereby servers that consistently kick a lot of players get looked at.

Really? There are literally hundreds of servers, all daylight, within all population ranges on my browser. If anything there are too many servers, allowing people to server hop far to easily in my opinion. Wish it was more like experimental with all the servers constantly packed with people.

I always hear people complaining about not being able to find a server, where do you live if you don't mind me asking? I've heard finding a servers can be a little more difficult in Australia, but on the west coast of the US it is easy.

well can't say anything about US servers ( don't play their high ping for me) I play in EU servers and when I couldn't find any solution about server lawlessness I even started to make videos and I`m not even YouTuber, maybe u can tell me if it`s fair play https://www.youtube.com/user/SonataH13

Well, that's why you join either official servers or you could probably google up the good servers. :)

Official servers has become a very small minority. And google up good servers? Well, first of all, how does that work, secondly, why? Server browser has become useless? That is certainly my experience of the situation.

Seems to me that you are just joining low pop servers that have barely anyone on them.

Join a 20 person server or something problem solved.

Well, because lots of server hosters like to advertise there server which is why I said to "google" it. Also, are you joining low pop servers or something? Because I can find tons of good servers although I generally just play on my own. :P

It's really annoying. I really don't get why don't they password their clan servers if they kick everyone. It became seriously frustrating experience in the mod with all the private hives and modded servers back then.
