Navigation Guide (Common spwans, Cardinal directions, Map reading)

Recommended Posts

Hello there fellow survivor!

A lot of my friends and followers in Youtube have asked me either where they currently are, where is north or how to navigate in DayZ in general. So, instead of answering every single one of them and telling the same story over and over again I made a guide about it some time ago.

Out of the blue, today (at 2:58am, my brain is weird) I thought to myself that there might be more people needing such guidance and therefore I would like to share it with you.

The video is useful for both DayZ Mod and DayZ Standalone.

Topics discussed:

Common spawn locations - I found myself commiting suicide for few hours to find out where do you usually spawn. It will most likely / hopefully change during the standalone development.
Cardinal directions and how to find them - Very useful if you keep getting lost on this fairly huge map.
Understanding maps - General skill that is usuable not only in video game but also in real life.

If you spotted any mistakes or want to give feedback, the please do so. I try to check the forum every now and then :)

Best regards,

Z4NN1N

Nice video sir. Thanks for your contribution. Obviously being able to navigate is of the utmost importance in this game and this video does a nice job of getting folks down the road to surviving.

Your name smells familiar, you don't happen to play Rust, do you?

Yes, I do. I'm really into survival games.

Well, except Warz/Infestation stories since that one was a huge disappointment and ripoff. Would not recommend it to anyone.

Thank you for the kind words, people!
