hygiene

ok, maybe sounds stupid but they might add hygiene.

They created complex health system with hunger and sicknes. Maybe they could add washing of somekind. Or whipes to clean face.

Imagine you survive 30 - 40 days in wild, how would you smell without washing. Maybe you can get sick if you dont wash. Maybe they can add smell, so you get masages like "hungry" or "bleeding", but: you smell something bad, or you cam smell sweaty and smely bandit behind corner

Maybe if you don't take care of your hygiene your clothes start to decay.

Meh, this would be fun, but there is already enough to worry about (hunger, thirst etc.) Maybe if when making a server there was a hardcore option, where the player has hygiene, and maybe needs to urinate when they drink a lot of water.

Gimme some beans if you agree :beans:

maybe not cleaning every 5 minutes, but maybe 2 or 3 days. Imagine you loot big building and someone is in ambush, but you can smell him. Or maybe zeds and animals can smell you from far away

Well I dont know what they want to add in the future but right now hunger and thirst is not realy enough for me. Because how you cure hunger? You just eat something, takes a min... drinking the same. I want to see all kind of stuff that I should take care of at my camp/ whatever.

cook food

clean weapon

take care of gear

hygiene?

This is very important for survival, if you spend all day running about 10-15k then you will get sweaty, if you dont wash you will get sores, your feet will get "trench foot" there is so much to consider with this, if you dont stay clean and dry there should be consequences.

Having lived off the land for 9 weeks without any contact or supplies, I know that if you get a friction sore on your legs you wont be walking the next day until its healed, unless you have the correct first aid supplies.... And if you dont wash not only do you smell, you are more susceptible to illness. especially if you get cut.

Another thing that most people don't know, is human Urine will repel most wild animals, the scent of it is something they fear, so urinating around your camp at night should keep the wild animals at bay, though i dont think Zed should care about this...

That would be going to far in my opinion. Resting after couple kilometers of run is a must, but having to take your shoes off and taking a bath is trying to turn this game into The Sims sequel...

As I always say, realism is good if it doesn't spoil the fun, which this suggestions does for me.

Yes, the devs are actually adding some elements of basic hygiene, but not in the way you are thinking of.

They might think about bathing and cleaning clothes way down the road, but for now, what they mean by hygiene is implementing sickness. The system is in place, but they need to add diffrent types of sicknesses and especially different ways to get sick. You will need disinfecting equipment to avoid getting infected with the virus (with disinfectant spray, pure alcohol, ...) and cleaning water to drink it (with purifying tablets). You will need to clean anything that comes in contact with a zombie during melee fight to avoid contamination. So if he hits you, you'll have to clean your clothes with disinfectant spray as well as the weapon you used to kill him with before opening a can of beans. You will also need to but pure alcohol on the bandages you will apply to your wounds.

When in the wild, you will need to purify water drawn from lakes to avoid sickness, and the up-coming updates will add hunting, so you will also have to be cook meat long enough to kill any bacteria so you can eat it safely.

Finally hygiene also concerned the state of your gear but in the opposite way form what some of you where thinking. Filthy cloths will not wear out your cloths but the contrary: clothes that are worn out are considered filthy and will bring you one step closer to sickness. This applies mostly for shoes for now. You will get a certain sickness from walking in ruined boots.

These are the elements of basic hygiene that are expected to show up pretty soon.

Having to evacuate your excrements is also on the table but won't be considered before a very long time.

it is pretty good idea cuz there might be urinating too and if you dont urinate it will do it on your pants then you need to change you pants to be clean and avoid the sickness

"My clothes are damp with blood"

I bet this message in the future will serve for other purpuses too, rathen than

just an indication of bleeding.Having clean clothes,is very important.

It could mean that gear/clothing may deteriorate faster if filthy, and also

the charachter is more prone to sickness infection.

I think we will see it in the future, but if we don't we should.

Hmm... I like what I read here but getting sick from a dirty body should take some time.. and the dude who posted about pissing around your camp for scent to deter wild animals, that wont bother hungry bears or wolves ^_^

Hearing about so much change in the dev blogs which is great but where are all the farking zombies ??
