I won't be satisfied with DayZ vehicles until I'm driving a Lada.

I still have no clue what this guy is so upset about, lol.

UAZ is a great suggestion, and I thought it was clear it's in the game already. It has to be. I've seen some of these at rallyes too and they aren't doing badly there either. So maybe it would be possible to have a rallye version, too (only two seats, but a bit more speed). However, something like this could easily be done with the Steam Workshop later too. I just think the rallye versions look really cool:

Hey, the GAZ Volga is mentioned in the new status report. :D

This is the Russian Pobeda on track wheels. It's been in limited production during 1949/50. One of the world's first SUV - and a damn cool looking machine!

[snip!]

Jesus, it's like a VW bug and a dump truck had a baby and fed it steroids.  I WANT IT.

I have another suggestion, the Taurus 2x2. Though this one might not fit the time period, it is a pretty interesting vehicle, as you could basically find its parts, carry them to your base and assemble there (with the help of some tools, like screwdriver and wrench). It could be a nice thing to drive between your camps or for going hunting. It's also nimble enough to go on stairs and could be more versatile in that way than most other vehicles. If you ever get stuck, you could dissemble it and assemble it again on the other side of the obstacle. The image is of the newer version, the video is of the first version. There are also different solutions for tires, so eventually this could proabably even fit into a single backpack.

Also this GAZ 46 could be a nice alternative to boats for now.

Fits 5 so pretty cool:

Need that Hilux.1990-1997_Toyota_Hilux_%28LN106R%29_DX_4

Is that a joke? Toyota? Why not Ferrari then? Really...

Toyota Hilux, favorite of terrorists and rebels the world over. I'd back that up along with the other Soviet/Russian vehicles.

Okay, no. Toyota never appeared in Russia until late 2000's.
And calling russian terrorists is offensive.

The thread title is "Russian vehicles" and not "vehicles in Russia" so maybe the Toyota is off-topic. But Chernarus isn't Russia, and in ARMA 2 the Chedaki used the Hilux as technicals.

Kia and Hyundai have been very popular, both were outselling Lada in 2014. Volkswagen, Chevy, Ford, etc, all there...

The latest data released by the Association of European Businesses in the Russian Federation (AEB) shows that foreign passenger car sales in Russia rose by 40% year-on-year (y/y) to 199,332 units in July ... The second biggest selling foreign car manufacturer in Russia in July was Toyota with 2008 units. The Japanese manufacturer is seeing its Russian sales volumes benefit from its new manufacturing plant in St Petersburg coming fully on stream, with the facility assembling the D-segment Camry. Toyota will welcome sales success in Russia at a time when it is beginning to struggle to maintain sales in other territories, notably Western Europe. Ford was the third best-selling carmaker during the month with 19,168 units, one place ahead of the previous market leader Chevrolet, which recorded a monthly sale figure of 18,831 units. However, Chevrolet still leads the way comfortably in the YTD sales terms, with sales of 144,532 units, ahead of Hyundai with 123,494 units, Ford with 116,794 units and Toyota with 108,855 units.

And before I have posted these foreign pickups used by the Georgian army, Toyota, Mitsubishi, and others:

Toyotas are not some hundred thousand dollar exotic luxury sports car... they're very common pickup trucks globally.

Also, Chernarus =/= Russia - sure, it was part of the Soviet Union, but it gained independence in 1991 and there was plenty of time for them to go their own route with automobiles. And the fact that they haven't appeared until 2000 does not mean that they don't exist, they've just not been around for a long time.

And no one is calling Russians 'terrorists', he was specifically saying that the Toyota Hilux is a very popular militant and terrorist vehicle because of how versatile they are in off road conditions - it's the truth. They were also used specifically by Chernarussian insurgents and militia canonically, so, there's that. Obviously any regular civilians that owned these things aren't terrorists.

Gews

In 2014, yes. Before late 2000's - no. Now look at DayZ and tell me what year it looks to be.

Also, Chernarus =/= Russia - sure

I'm so tired of this $hit. When you will guys realease that post-soviet countries looked and worked exactly the same as russia until late 2000's? God. Learn some history damn it.

Yo chill Bro, not everyone watches Motor Trend Channel on YT. Next time you might want to take the 5 seconds to pull a link out of your ass, instead of lashing out, you lazy ...person.

On a more constructructive matter:

Zil-41047_zpseeweozub.jpg

This is the Russian Preses' car (when he isn't driving a Merc). It's the Zil-41047. It gobbles up insane amounts of fuel, but I imagine it's bulletproof and a pretty sweet ride overall. One of these on the map and the fitting escort motorcycles could be some fun to drive around in a group.
