@-Leon- It seems to me (when I look at the pics you posted) that these problems can be fixed by adjusting the gamma and stuff like that?

unfortunately the lighting is always somewhat annoying in game .. regardless of the settings.

*it looks too bluish, not post apo enough, too dark for to be realistic.. blablabla

I was the first to point this issue with the early screenshots, it's totally solved in the new video footage, in my opinion.

Now it just look.. great! and rocket stated it's not high settings, so one can imagine when max out how much more beautiful it will look.

Settings were normal/low because I couldn't figure out how to use the damn capture card so I had to run fraps.

Well now I need to watch out for naked hobos with motorcycle helmets!

Sounds like a normal walk to the shops for me.

All of these small changes being introduced (I know epic amounts of work go into each one) are going to combine to make something pretty special.

Patience my friend. They have more important things to take care off.

Turn post-processing and headbob off in next video. That motionblur is hurting my eyes. Otherwise really good stuff.

I agree. Plus it kills the framerate when you turn around....

I'd really love to see a bird's eye view of the new Cherno with these huge new districts. The one in the devblog looks like it would house more than the entire population of the original town (I hope they're given a workplace, because the factory wouldn't need that many people (or am I wrong?)).

Please use the alpha system that Arma 3 is doing. I can handle bugs and stuff, but I really want to play!!

oooh, btw... any chance of seeing the new stance system implemented? also the polished zoom feature from the Arma3 alpha would be sweet

Agreed. I'd assume a lot of us will be currently playing the Arma 3 Alpha right now, going back to DayZ mod/Arma 2 without the new stance system is quite frustrating I have to say.

But saying that, I'm not sure what the implementation of the new skeleton into SA will have on this so.............yeah.

hotkeys for inventory items? Oh boy, I smell trouble

wasn't that an issue with the WarZ?

What was the issue? Just curious. :)

Only if they instantly appear in you hands as if by magic. If done right (as in many other games) it just takes the chore out of sifting through gear. I believe the issue in that other "game" you mention was that items would just spontaniously appear in your hands at the press of a button as they haven't bothered making any transition animations.

"hey I'm unarmed!" *instagun* "take that bitch, the hand is quicker than the eye". If those scenario's can be avoided then it's all good.

Considering the amount of things being added it seems like a good idea to me.

Please Rocket, just take all the time you need to release the game.

Btw in the next blog could you talk a bit more about the new controls? I mean is it like Arma 3 with no negative mouse acceleration and no mouse smoothing? I'm asking this because it changed a lot of things in Arma 3 and it's great and i suppose it would be hard to go back now.

Anyway great job and keep the Devblogs dirty that's how we like them!

Ps: i started playing space station 13 beacause of you and it's eating my social life so thank you :)

I wish post process and motion blur was turned off in that video because it was annoying. Also you almost have to hold a gun against their head to get these testers talking if I were Rocket I would think my mic would be broken.

I don't see it as a big deal really. Hotkeys make sense from a gameplay point of view as they are a way to access what you have at the ready. could think of them as being in side pockets or on your person directly. What should be done, is that based on the storage you have, that will decide how many hotbar slots you have. A small bag, you just have one or two. A maxed bag will have more, I think that would be cool. As long as they all have the animation to them for switching, such as with eating food, you have to kneel and wait (While also having the ability to abort eating and such), though stuff like switching guns shouldn't involve stationary animations anymore. You should still have to bring it up to the ready and put your other weapon away, but its not an insta-switch.

I remember back in the day when a patch was released for the mod. These forums would come to a standstill.

There would be ober 50 pages of posts on a single patch thread within the hour

Rocket are you not worried about the sudden drop of interest.?

Sure theres a few people on the youtube video but nothing like it used to be.

I think the game needs to release soon. Do it like the Arma 3 Alpha on Steam.

WarZ is a big part of this. Its terrible and i think its putting people off alltogether when it comes to these Zombie simulators.

I love dayz and dont want to see it fail but i feel concerned :(
