So...How long until a DayZ ARMA 3 port?

Recommended Posts

Considering the DayZ SA will be locked down, I hope to see DayZ on Arma 3, Running side by side with the Standalone, so modders can make their own versions of DayZ.

I would like to play both, DayZ SA and a DayZ mod on Arma 3.

Well, considering ARMA 3 Is still in alpha... And DayZ SA should come out in a few months.

Hopefully a Madmax armageddon survival type scenario in Arma 3 would be cool, (with the dragster type cars with mounted guns and skins with mohicans and leather clothes)

But no zombie apocalypse mod on Arma 3 will be able to match Dayz standalone because of the limitations even Arma 2 had with Dayz.

Your all forgetting why Dayz standalone is being made a standalone in the first place ;)

ARMA 3 commynity-based DayZ mod would bring some kind of competition (that WarZ had eventually lost) to the table. It would be some kind of Proprietary vs Opensource but without any kind of aggression or conflict: any good/innovational/intereswting community-mod features could be implemented to DayZ-Standalone!

IMHO it's just great! ARMA3 DayZ will also dramatically increase ARMA3 sales which would bring more income to BI-Studio and would refresh the interest to DayZ-mod before the DayZ-SA lunches.

What difference did sales periods effect the mod? The all-around-the-year sales maybe?

It will be more likely that a Wasteland port will occur long before a dayz one and i doubt it will be till the full game is released

wasteland is allready running now

Someone will probably do something very similar in time. Rocket is busy with the standalone though.

However if you are interested in something kind of similar minus the zombies look for wasteland games on arma III multiplayer, they can be fun with friends or if you run into a good group of guys.

Im still hoping they make some crappy port, because wasteland zombies is...okay but problematic.

We get the DayZ standalone in just a few months.

Sauce sauce sauce.

Needs more sauce.

Not gonna happen in the forseeable future, at least under the DayZ name.

Then someone in the community will just make a dayz successor that is better using Dayz as the gameplay foundation.

It will happen its only a matter of time and if I was a betting man id bet we see dayz or dayz style mods in the arma 3 alpha long before stand alone comes out.

I doubt we'll be happy with a mod for Arma3. I'm loving me some A3 multiplayer, but you can't play wasteland for an hour without getting teleported to the ocean or otherwise scripted to death. The kiddies have hit it hard, even so soon, and with all those alpha lite keys rolling around out there no server can hope to ban them all. I'm probably going to stick to small MP missions with my buddies and custom stuff we cook up ourselves to enjoy A3 for a while.

The DayZ engine, with its emphasis on server-side security and limited client powers, is what's needed for DayZ. Arma3 has a lot going for it, but it's still an Arma game, and it still gives the client enough power to facilitate trolling on a persistent, heavily populated hive. If a DayZ mod is executed in Arma3, it'll be vulnerable to all the scripting nonsense that plagued the Arma2 mod, and I doubt Bohemia will have the resources or motivation to lock down the Arma game to accomodate DayZ.

Standalone for zombicide, A3 for sweet laser-guided missiles and stuff.

Alpha lite doesn't include multiplayer. It's more the fact that there is no anti-cheat at the moment, I don't even think there is rcon but I agree, that's one of the primary reasons for going standalone.

2017 is already full at work with this :)

http://opendayz.net/...ggestions.8546/

Its gonna be a new zombie survival mod, written from scratch for Arma III, it will also not be called anything DayZ. :)

We have seen many map port attempts which really have not done it for me. There are only a couple of clear exceptions mod wise that have stood out apart from the classic and I hope not for a shed load of clones and more thinking out of the box to make things better for the community.

Turns out it's not as easy as people seem to think it is.
