    • Mate, please understand those MG files since 0.68 or maybe 1.00 game patch. Please don't ask me when. Only the BI devs can tell you something about that, but no one alse. If make a point that devs right now working on awesome stuff (based on article @ the Steam news about the 1.25 update), that new feature will be shown later this year maybe it could be something useful or new firearm or something else or just another buggy version of V3S truck that now can transport 2 or more folks. But again, no one yet knows (except the BI Dev's team) and no any kind of information. If you wish to completely ruin you hope - then hope that it would be implementation of MGs mechanics; if you not wishing to ruin your hope - await the updates information. I'm sorry for long answer but better safe then sorry I guess you know it 🙂
    • 1. Bad news thread is about.50bmg. 2. They are already in the game HMG PKM (7.62x54R) & LMG M249 (.223 / 5.56NATO), but they not working at all. So maybe some day or never at all who knows...
    • I've upgraded from R9 380 4gb to RX7700XT recently and even driving in heavy foliage areas with maxxed settings fps is solid 60 fps. However, I had the same ordeal with surroundings going white and subsequent CTDs, when I didn't have enough space for the game cache on disk C:. Try to allocate more storage space for C disk, it helped me a ton.
    • Hello everyone,

I did not find any similar topics, so I decided to start a discussion.
I often recruit new players to DayZ and teach them to play for the first 100 hours. My hour pool is nearly 3k, but...
Recently I started to experience some unplanned random item quality issues, that includes durability reduction, and, as a result - item quality state changes.
As we all know we try to comply with WORN or PRISTINE quality state of items, especially weapons due to jamming chance while using it.
I met certain problem that persist through that I do not know the percentage of "life" that item has on the usage moment.
You cannot control the WORN->DAMAGED transition progress during active usage due to unavailable promotion to PRISTINE state or maintaining WORN state permanently without transition to DAMAGED state.
This goes according to the laws of vanilla game mechanics.

The thing is that results of item usage DRASTICALY change after sequential transition from WORN to DAMAGED quality state and can affect gameplay in most unpredictable ways.

      As an example:
During one gunfight your pistol can transfer from WORN to DAMAGED and by any bad luck you can get your gun jammed after the next shot you take in DAMAGED weapon state. Very bad luck, but what can I say - it's DayZ.

      Problem solution:
My suggestion lies in direct division of WORN state to similar BARELY WORN, WELL WORN, BADLY WORN, so the total line up of item states will look like:

PRISTINE -> BARELY WORN -> WELL WORN -> BADLY WORN -> DAMAGED -> BADLY DAMAGED -> RUINED.

Failing chance for the 3 new "WORN" states should be same as for current WORN state and durability for each must be 1/3 of the current WORN state.
Color indicator won't be affected and will be the same for all of the new "WORN" states.
It wont affect gameplay and won't give any advantages for the players but it will significantly increase awareness for the repair and maintenance.
As a human I can evaluate quality state of certain things with superficial inspection and I totally think this will help to maintain and develop further gaming experience in a better ways.

Thank you for your attention and have a good day!
    • Devs are adding things that are useful, you say... Like the thing with melee, right? Where pick/axe is less powerful than a butter knife. "Knives deal most damage in this update" - people are saying. Like what is that suppose to mean? Or when you can't use power attack without certain sprint-triggered momentum. Bohemia just takes something that works, change it into ridiculous nonsense and that's their usual gameplan for an update. And then people like me cry because fun is nowhere to be seen. Melee is just an example of poor choices done. Few patches before it was actually quite fun to battle npcs with various tools. And now? You swing, then block, they swing, you swing, then block, they swing - until someone collapses from boredom. I liked the older system  - one could use as much power attacks as their stamina allowed. It was a quick method to deal with mob/escape from it. But noooo, they had to change it. Just to make npcs "harder" i guess. But is it? No, because AI is still the same. These moronic infected can't even bash-open doors, even though mods created such feature years ago, so its possible. Infected can breach doors - now that should be implemented. It's a big change that truly makes game harder. And what do we get? OP Knives and messed up mechanics. It's not useful when you're changing something that was working for years. It's plain annoying.
    • What nonsense are you talking about? Let's say I have my own server hardware. Who do I rent it from? Or are you saying that I should have signed a lease agreement with myself? Smells like schizophrenia. And yes, even by opening some kind of bar, restaurant, etc. I can make access there, for example, according to a certain dress code, which again is not for everyone. Moreover, I can make this place closed and give access there only to certain people or demand money for entry. Again, paying for entry on your part does not guarantee that the security of this establishment will not throw you out onto the street for violating some local rules.
